Health Services
Our School Nurse provides direct health care to students and staff who may be injured while at school, develop a sudden illness while at school, and who need care while at school as prescribed by a physician. Our nurse also provides health screenings, helps promote a healthy school environment by monitoring immunization compliance and evaluating potential communicable diseases, and also functions as a teacher by providing health education and information to students, families, and staff. A school nurse does not diagnose, however, and may not treat without a physician's order. A physician's order is necessary to give any medicines- prescription or over the counter- at school.
